First Impression Friday: Vapid

Happy Friday! This week for First Impression Friday I have a few goodies from Vapid to share with you! Vapid sells an assortment of products from polish to hand and body care and more. Vapid is a pretty well known indie, I had always heard of them through people complaining about restocks haha! Honestly that put me off of the brand for a long time but I finally gave in and decided to try my luck during a restock...it really wasn't crazy like I had expected. If restocks that might get crazy put you off I wouldn't let it stop you from trying this brand, I just looked at their website and they have a ton of stuff in stock right now so it looks like that may not be an issue anymore.

This post is actually made up of 2 different orders. I think the second order arrived around the time everything was going on with my Grandma being in the hospital so I didn't write down any of the info about when it arrived :( The first order I did manage to keep track of though! I placed my first order on 1/30/16 and it arrived to me on 2/13/16, so a little less than 2 weeks. I know that Vapid must get about a bajillion orders during restocks so I don't think that turn around time is bad at all.

The polishes arrived in a box and were individually bubble wrapped and wrapped in tissue paper. There was some super cute heart shaped glitter in the box also, I totally tried to grab it all to save for nail art should the mood strike. There was also a business card, branded sticker, invoice copy and a cute little squishy animal. Overall A+ presentation!

Check out everything I got after the jump!

Birthday Bitch '16 is a dusty blue base loaded with ultra chrome flakies, this was the reason I placed my second order and it was definitely worth it! The formula was really nice, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats plus top coat for my photos.

I Don't Feel The Spark is a black to red thermal with gold shimmer. This is the polish that actually made me finally try Vapid but I gotta say it was kind of a let down, the color shift just wasn't as fantastical as I had expected. That said, I do like the color on its own so I'll wear it again. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Please excuse the wet fingers when I was trying to get this one to transition!

Sweaters N Denim is a blue to peach thermal with peach shimmer. This polish is pretty much everything, the shift is stunning and very obvious and the shimmer when its blue is gorgeous. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had a nice consistency. It is a bit sheer but it built easily. I used 3 coats for my photos.

The last item I picked  up was the Nail Sauce in Peach. I love the product but don't care much for the scent, its a little too fragrant for me. This is a nice creamy cuticle moisturizer, it sinks in nicely and doesn't look greasy. I'd definitely pick up another nail sauce in the future, just in a different scent!

Overall I'm happy with what I bought and was happily surprised by how easy my shopping experience was. I'll be picking up more from Vapid in the future and next time I plan on picking up more of their body products, they look awesome! Vapid is available at http://vapid.mybigcommerce.com/

  3. Your swatches are beautiful. Sweaters n Denim & Birthday Bitch are the 1st 2 Vapids I ordered too. They are really gorgeous. So far they're the only ones I own, but that might change this restock. I think I might try to snag Unicorn Egg. :)

Oh wow these are some choice colours!! :D I've done the 'restocking' thing couple of times, mainly for the ILNP Ultra Chrome Flakies, it's too stressful for me haha!

  6. Beautiful swatches! I like Sweaters n Denim but my nails always seem to run hot so the main color I get is the dusty peach (meh on my skintone). I wish they would make a regular polish with just the smokey blue/gray with peach shimmer.

  8. I agree. I love the cold color, I won't even be sad when the thermal dies as long as it 'sticks' in the cold color, it's lovely.
