Zoya Fall 2016 Urban Grunge Collection Cremes Swatches & Review

Hi Guys! Today I have the first half of Zoya's Fall 2016 Urban Grunge Collection to share with you. This half is made up of 6 "one coat" cremes. The metallic half of the collection will be up very soon! I love nice cremes so I was actually more excited about these than the other half of the collection! Check out the swatches after the jump.

August is a grey creme. The formula was good, it was a really nice consistency and easy to apply. I did find it a little patchy on the first coat so I needed 2 to even it out. You may be able to get away with 1 coat if you did a thick coat.

Courtney is a vampy red creme. The formula was also nice on this one, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. I found this one to be patchy on the first coat also, I'm not sure if you could do 1 coat even if it was thick since the coverage wasn't very even at all. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Mallory is a blue creme. This is not quite cobalt but it almost is. The formula was good, a little thick but easy to apply. I needed 2 coats for full opacity for this one but you may be able to get away with 1 thick coat.

Noah is a taupe creme. The formula was ok, it was a little thick but easy to apply. I did have issues with it not wanting to level out nicely though. I used 2 coats with this one but you can probably get away with 1 thick coat.

Tara is a vampy plum creme. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. This was also a little patchy on the first coat so I needed 2 for full opacity.

Wyatt is a green creme. I really like this shade of green, it has a nice blue tone to it. The formula was good, it was a good consistency it applied easily. I also found this one to be a little patchy on the first coat, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall I like these and will use them but I'm a little disappointed that they are marketed as "one coat cremes" when literally none of them were 1 coaters for me :/ The Urban Grunge Collection is available now at Zoya.com, each polish retails for $10

  2. Nice creme polishes but maybe not something that exciting.

  3. I'm not a huge fan of cremes but Tara was lovely.

  4. Not fussy on this collection overall. I feel like there's nothing that stands out as truly unique. My fall polish desires are all at ILNP this year. ;)

  7. Hi Jen, so-called "one-coat wonders" NEVER are for me personally! I like to do three very thin coats to get a perfect coverage and because I have ridges to hide. I've noticed that when a polish is touted as being a one-coater, it is usually a thick formula but I just can't use them that way. Thanks for these swatches! They're all nice fall colors.

  8. Ditto! I really prefer more thin coats or it takes forever to cure. These are pretty colors but any goopy formula has me cringing.

A lovely fall collection! And I don't mind having to do 2 coats. Thanks for that info.

  10. I didn't have a problem getting them all on with one coat, you just need to do it a little thicker than usual

  11. I found that doing that flooded my cuticles

  12. I didn't like the formula of the summer one coat creams and will be avoiding these, too. I'd rather have two normal coats.
