Essie Fall 2016 Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! First Impression Friday will be back soon,  I have to swatch the stuff I've bought lately, so in the meantime I just have a "regular" post for you. Today I have the Essie Fall 2016 Collection to share with you. These polishes take inspiration from Japan and all 6 are cremes. Check out the swatches after the jump.

Go Go Geisha is a light putty type of shade with pink undertones. These types of shades tend to be flattering on many skin tones, mine included! The formula was great, it was a smooth consistency and applied really nicely. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Kimono-over is a dark purple creme. This is a bit darker than it looks in the bottle. It does tend to look black in low lighting but the purple comes out more in brighter light. The formula was great, it was easy to apply and had great opacity. This was almost a 1 coater on me but I did find that the second coat deepened the color so thats what I decided to go with. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Maki Me Happy is a deep red creme. The formula was ok, it was a little patchy on the first coat and I found that in order to even it out I had to really float on the second coat. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Now and Zen is a light grey creme. The formula was fantastic, it was a good consistency and applied like a dream. This was very very close to being a 1 coater, I did end up doing 2 coats but it was barely needed. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Playing Koi is dark red orange. This is an interesting shade and my favorite of the collection. It leans a little bit more orange in real life but its like the perfect fall shade. If I was only going to get 1 polish from this collection it would be this one. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Udon Know Me is a light dusty blue creme. The formula was good, it was a really nice consistency and easy to apply with great opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Essie's Fall Collection is available now, you can find it at Ulta and drugstores!

  2. Great swatches, as usual!
My favorite is Udon Know me, but Playing Koi is stunning too, in spite of not being my kind of color.

  3. I've got the entire set. I haven't had a chance to wear all the colors yet, but I hope to change that soon!
