OPI Fall 2016 Washington D.C. Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I finally have my swatches of OPI's Washington D.C. Collection to share with you! This collection is a real whopper, there are 12 shades in the normal collection and an additional 3 limited edition shades made with Kerry Washington. I believe there are also a couple of Ulta exclusives shades, but I don't have those ones...however you can check them out over on KellieGonzo's blog here! Check out the swatches after the jump!

CIA = Color Is Awesome is a teal creme. I usually love OPI cremes but this one gave me some trouble. I found it to be a little watery and hard to control. I did not have staining but this does look like the type of teal that could stain so I would suggest a couple coats of base coat with this. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Freedom of Peach is a peachy orange creme. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Inside The Isabelletway is a medium warm brown creme. This is one of the LE shades, I believe the name is a nod to Kerry's daughter! The formula was really nice, it was a good consistency and a breeze to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Kerry Blossom is a red toned purple creme. This one is also one of the LE shades Kerry Washington collaborated on, as you can probably tell from the name! The formula was ok, I found it to be a little thin and almost jelly like on the first coat. It was patchy at first but ended up building really easily. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

"Liv" The In Gray is a dark grey creme. The formula was great, it was easy to apply and had really nice opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Madame President is a pinky red creme. This is almost a berry but I feel like its maybe a little too red for berry. The formula was great, it was smooth and easy to apply with great opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Never A Dulles Moment is a yellow creme. Please excuse how ghostly my skin looks in the photos, my camera wasn't playing well with this one, the polish color is accurate but my skin looks crazy! The formula was ok, it was a nice consistency but on the streaky side. I found it easiest to float on with a soft hand. I used 3 coats plus top coat for this one, I found that I needed a good top coat for it because it didn't level very well on its own.

OPI By Popular Vote is a berry/red creme. This one is a little darker than Madame President but they are in the same family of shades. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Pale To The Chief is a light yellow toned nude with a soft pearl shimmer. The shimmer in this is more noticeable in the bottle than on the nail but it is there. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. It was a little streaky on the first coat but it evened out easily. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shh...It's Top Secret is a dark brown creme. This is very very dark, it looks mostly black the majority of the time. The formula was good, it was a little patchy on the first coat but perfect with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Squeaker of the House is a medium brown creme. I really like this one, its super flattering! The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Stay Off The Lawn! is a green toned teal. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I did not have any staining but I would suggest a couple coats of base coat just in case. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Suzi- The First Lady of Nails is a murky green creme. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

We The Female is a red creme. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and had good opacity. I found it best to float on the second coat to not get patchy spots. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Yank My Doodle is a dark burnt orange creme. Aside from the name this is a really gorgeous polish. The formula was good, it was a little jelly-ish but not sheer. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall I like the collection, if you enjoy OPI cremes you probably will too. These are available now at authorized OPI retailers!

  4. Wow, Gorgeous swatches, as always, thank you. :) Fall colours are my favourite!
A question for you: I have noticed, for the last few weeks or months now, that your nails seem narrower at the tip, don't they? Do you file them differently, or do you simply apply the nail polish differently? (Or do I just imagine all this!? :D )
