First Impression Friday: 6 Harts Polish

Happy Friday! This week for First Impression Friday I have a few things from 6 Harts to share with you. I've seen this brand on blogs for a long time so I finally decided to buy some stuff! I placed my order on August 30th and received it on September 8th so the turn around time was great! Everything came in a small box and was bubble wrapped nicely with a business card! Check out what I got after the jump!

Bat Crap Crazy is a dark chocolatey brown with a pinky bronze shimmer and a sprinkle of holo. I was hoping the shimmer would stand out a little bit more in this one but its really pretty regardless and great if you like deep brown polish. The formula was good, it was a little thick but easy to apply and the opacity was great. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Mountain Nights is a blue jelly with flecks of glitter and a violet shimmer. I wanted so badly to like this but its quite a bit lighter than I was expecting and I didn't care for the formula. It was on the watery side and I found it very hard to control. It was also much more sheer than I expected, I used 4 coats and could still see some nail line in person.

Last up I bought a tube of the Healing Calendula Cuticle Oil in the scent Apples & Cinnamon. I bought this because I liked the doe foot applicator, I don't own any other cuticle oils with that kind of applicator. Unfortunately the scent on this was a big let down, it was very lightly scented and when I could smell it all I got was the apple...no cinnamon. Aside from that the actual oil was nice and I do like the doe foot!

Overall I'm glad I finally tried 6 Harts but I wasn't very impressed overall and probably won't be buying again from this brand in the future. 6 Harts is available at http://6harts.bigcartel.com

  1. I am a bit disappointed. I have these polishes and cuticle oils, your photos are not really accurate, and I have quite long nails yet did not need as many coats. I get that everyone is different in their preferences, but oh my. I wonder...

  6. My photos are accurate to what I received, there may be batch differences as that tends to happen with indies

  7. She does small batch. That is doubtful.

  8. I think its your lighting to be honest. I can tell in the reflection on the bottle.

  9. Listen, I'm sorry that you disagree with my opinion but I don't appreciate the insinuation that I am lying. I bought these, why would I lie? The polish is absolutely nothing like what it appears online and the formula sucked. If you like it then I am very happy for you.

  10. I do think your opinions are incorrect, 6Harts has amazing products! As far as her cuticle oils, far better to be less scented than too much. Personal scents are meant for up close and to not offend those further away.

  11. The good thing about opinions is that we don't have to agree on them. I'm glad you like the brand so much, the point of my blog is to express my opinion...which is what I did. I can only speak to my experience.

  12. Like the brown color, bummer about the formula. Sounds like there are batch inconsistencies which is a bummer!

  13. The brown one is pretty and I agree about oils with doe foot applicators. They rock!

  14. Jen, thank you as always for actual honest reviews! Anything can be made to look great in a quick IG pic, but this kind of discussion as to what was/not great is really helpful, and super appreciated.
