China Glaze Holiday 2016 Seas and Greetings Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Its been a little bit since my last post, sorry for the unexpected absence. I was sick for part of my time away but I've also been battling a bit of blogging burn out. I'm going to be posting less ofter moving forward, but not going away completely since I still do (and always will) love polish! Today I have the Seas and Greetings Collection for Holiday 2016 from China Glaze to share with you. This collection is fun and different for the holidays, its very California which as a California girl I very much enjoy! Check out the swatches after the jump!

Eat, Pink, Be Merry is a light pink base with a pink shimmer. The shimmer stands out much better than I expected it to in this shade, especially when the light hits the nail. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. It was a touch sheer but it built easily. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Good Tide-ings is a light periwinkle blue creme. This leans slightly purple and is really pretty on the nail. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Joy To The Waves is a blue base with a strong green shimmer. I wanted to badly to love this but it's just not doing much for me...its a little too frosty for my personal taste. I think it would probably be really pretty layered over a dark blue base though! The formula was not great, I found it to be on the thin and hard to control side. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Let's Shell-ebrate is a glitter topper loaded with gold and pink shimmer and glitter. I think you probably could get this opaque on its own if you sponged it on but I prefer it layered. The formula was great, it had great glitter payoff and was easy to apply. I used 1 coat plus top coat over Snow Way! for the photos below.

Partridge In A Palm Tree is a matte green with silver shimmer. Unfortunately I really did not care for this one, mostly because I found the formula to be a pain. It dries incredibly fast, which you would think would be a good thing, but its not. It dried so quickly that it was hard to apply evenly and I got weird ridges on my nails, I tried to work with this a couple times and had issues both times. Show below is 2 coats both with and without top coat.

Sand In My Mistletoes is a peachy creme. I really like the color of this one, I feel like it would be really flattering on deeper skin tones. The formula was ok, it was a little finicky to apply but with patience it wasn't too bad. This is one that you really need to float on so that you don't have bald spots. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Seas and Greetings is a purple base with a bright pink shimmer. This is one of my favorites of the collection, its pretty on its own but I think it would also be gorgeous layered over a darker purple. The formula was good, it was sheer but it built easily. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Snow Way! is a slightly off white base with strong copper shimmer. The shimmer is much stronger in real life than my camera could capture. This is really gorgeous in person and one that I would suggest picking up if you like a good shimmer. The formula was ok, it can be a little streaky and its best to float on your coats for even application. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

The More The Berrier is a berry shimmer, this almost has a foil finish to it...but not quite. The formula was good, it was really easy to apply and it had great opacity. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Tis The Sea-Sun is an orange creme. This isn't quite as bright as its picking up in photos. The formula was ok, it was a bit on the thick side but I had no issues with application. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Starfish is a topper with blue to green duo chrome flakes of glitter and shimmer. This is super pretty and it changes depending on what color you decide to layer it over. There is a slight green tint to the base but it didn't seem to change my base color. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had great payoff. I used 1 coat plus top coat over Good Tide-ings for the photos below.

Warm Wishes is a coral creme. There is a subtle shimmer in this polish but for me it was pretty much invisible once the polish was on the nail. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the those below.

The China Glaze Holiday 2016 Seas and Greetings Collection is available now! My picks are Snow Way and Seas and Greetings.

  5. Seas and Greetings and Snow Way are my favorites!
It's a shame that the turquoise one has a bad formula, since the color is gorgeous.
